Leaving the World

Better Than We Found It

"We are the guardians of generations
that will follow in our footsteps
- let us ensure that we are fit to lead them."

~ by Eleesha,
Author of The Soul Whisperer

I am often asked why I'm going to school to get a PhD., writing, flying, and working so hard.  What will I do with my education? What are my goals? While I have a mission to fulfill with my one wish for aviation, and why I am writing thrillers, and wrote the motivation book, etc... There is definitely something more pushing me forward.  I believe we should...

Leave the world better than we found it.

When my friend Eleesha sent me a daily inspiration about being the guardian of the next generation, I smiled and said,
"ah... this is it!"

We are the Guardians of Generations to Come.

Finals complete! I'm back on reserve for a week starting Wednesday, and today my office is being organized and ready for then quarter of school! I'm also compiling my notes to help change the world. And Darby, Kathryn, Jackie, and Linda are all in Flight For Survival, and we are up to chapter 30!

Enjoy the Journey!

A Round Tuit 286

Happy Monday!
For us it's the start of our 2 month summer holiday now. I'm excited to have time with my girls again, and we have plenty of plans.
We're definitely going to try more of the paper making my youngest experimented with over the past couple of weeks.

And of course sewing, and lots lots more!

So how about you? What have you all been up to this week? Let's get this party started and find out!

------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to this week's linky party. A place where you can link up your posts and creations, and be inspired by others.

Tuits are very hard to come by, especially the round ones. For years people have been saying, "I'll do it as soon as I get a round tuit". Well now you can have one of your very own, and all those jobs that have needed doing will finally get done!

Here's my favourites from last week's party:

First of all, this super simple
Cinnamon Star Ornament from A Pretty Life.

Finally, a food dish that caught my eye as it just looks so tasty - Chicken Green Chilli Stuffed Sweet Potato from Sweet C's Designs.

For those featured, feel free to grab a 'featured on' button here.
Creating my way to Success
----------------------------------------------------------
Now it's your turn:
Link up your own projects - old or new - no rules - just share your creativity and inspiration!
I'd love if you grabbed the button - then you can have your very own Round Tuit!
And of course we all love visitors and comments so do visit some of the other links!
By linking up here you're giving me permission to use photos from your post in features here on my blog.
I will feature my favourites on this post next week.

Making Paper

Over the past few weeks at school, my younger daughter has been working on a sustainability project.
As part of her project she wanted to try making her own paper.

She found this tutorial for making paper without a blender
( I didn't want newspaper in my only food blender!).

She made a 'deckle' using an old picture frame and a piece of old security screen mesh I'd kept
(I knew it would come in useful for something!).

Then after ripping up some newspaper and soaking it in water overnight, she spread it over the deckle, adding a couple of leaves and a flower for decoration!

Then followed the drying process, after letting some of the water drip through the mesh, she flipped her paper over onto some felt, then sandwiched it between another piece of felt before putting a heavy book on top to squeeze and flatten the paper some more.

Finally she let her paper dry under the ceiling fan overnight.

It turned out pretty well don't you think?

A few days later, she started a new batch - this time adding some glitter!

Then this paper was cut, punched and tied into a small notebook as a gift for a friend!

I think there might be some more paper making and experimentation going on these school holidays....which start this afternoon!

Have you ever made you own paper?
Do you have any tips, hints or suggestions? We'd love to hear them!

I shall be linking this post to many of the fabulous linky parties whose pretty buttons and direct links can be found on my linky party page.
