A new duffel bag for my daughter.

I love when my daughters ask me to make things for them.
Last week, my eldest asked if I could make her a new swimming bag.

I made both my girls duffel bags for swimming about three years ago.  This is the one I made my eldest - when it was brand new.

Since she swims almost every day, this bag has had a lot of use and now looks very well worn.

So - only to happy to oblige, I got out my fabric for her to choose what she wanted and whipped up this new one for her!

2 Handles

Plus a shoulder strap

The inside is fully waterproof fabric, important for soggy towels and togs! Plus there's one zipped pocket too.

The duffel bags are made using my free

The pattern covers 4 sizes as shown in the picture above.
The swimming bag I made for my daughter was a slightly different size - the measurements for that can be found here.

              Enjoy every moment...
              They go by too fast!!

Saturday I was at home, sitting on reserve, diligently doing my homework when scheduling called. A six-day trip.  It was time to fly!  So... my work week is a deadhead to Minneapolis yesterday (photo on arrival), followed by a flight to Honolulu today with a 48-hour layover. Then I will fly back to Minneapolis and catch the first flight home to Seattle. Everyone should have a job this wonderful.  For now, I'm trying to get my homework complete so I can print and edit poolside.

              For now...
              Enjoy the journey!

Hello and welcome to another week at Creating my way to Success.
It was our wedding anniversary yesterday so we celebrated with a nice long trail run in the morning, an afternoon at a local swimming hole with our girls - and a bottle of bubbly in the evening! Such a lovely day.

Time to see what everyone else has been up to this past week!

Well now you can have one of your very own, and all those jobs that have needed doing will finally get done!

              Spicy Vegetable Bread

Here's another savoury recipe that is great for a lunch box snack.

              Ingredients

              115 g (4 oz) wholemeal plain flour
              115 g (4 oz) plain flour
              1.5 tsp baking powder
              0.25 tsp salt
              60 g (2 oz) butter
              115 g (4 oz) grated zucchini
              90 g (3 oz) grated carrot
              1 tblsp chopped fresh rosemary
              70 g (2.5 oz) grated Parmesan
              1 egg
              3 tblsp mayonnaise
              3 tblsp Worcestershire sauce
              1 tblsp sesame seeds

              Preheat oven to 190 C (375F), Gas No 5.
Mix flours, baking power and salt together and rub in the butter.

Add zucchini, carrot, rosemary and 3/4 of parmesan.

Beat together the egg, mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce.

Pour into the dry ingredients. Mix well.

Spoon into a greased and lined 1 kg (2 lb) loaf tin. Smooth the surface level.

Sprinkle with remaining parmesan and sesame seeds.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, bread should be still moist.

              Best served warm.

This bread is so tasty - crisp on the outside and soft and moist on the inside!
